PyCon 2023

Due to PyCon and as per tradition, we will not be having a __main__ meeting because so everyone can focus on prepareing for and attending PyCon later in the month.

For those who are attending PyCon, you can join us on the "pycon" Slack channel to sync up those who will be there.

In May, we will resume our normal meeting schedule.

ChiPy May 2020 __main__ meeting

After a successful remote April Main Meeting and WebDev / DevOps SIG, we are gearing up for more remote meetings.

Since PyCon is the week of our May __main__ meeting, we will not be holding our normal livestream. However, feel free to join us at chipy.town on Thursday at 6pm for a ChiPy social hour.

Given the COVID-19 outbreak, we want to let you know what we have planned for the upcoming ChiPY events. We will not be meeting in person until well after the Stay at Home Order expires. However, we have some great online events planned for April and we hope you'll join us:

  • Thursday, April 16 - Project Night: Join us in Slack on #projectnight from 6:00-9:00 for some group work rooms. We’ll start with a few main rooms in Hangouts and folks can split off from there by project. These will be hosted by some of our amazing organizers.

ChiPy In-Person Events Canceled

ChiPy,
The ChiPy Board and Organizers have been monitoring the spread of COVID-19 in Chicago and abroad. ChiPy intends to continue to keep our community safe, and for that reason, we, along with our hosts, felt it best to cancel the following meetups:

 

  • March __main__ meeting - 3/12
  • Data SIG - 3/18
  • Project Night 3/19

We obviously regret making this decision, but it is the right call, for now, to ensure that everyone remains safe and healthy. We will be exploring other options for engaging with the ChiPy community remotely in the near term, so please stay tuned.

ChiPy Main Meeting: February 2019 Ultimate Language Shootout

On February 14th, we plan to have our Ultimate Language Shootout meeting! At this meeting, we will be hearing from speakers who will give short talks about a programming language other than Python and compare their chosen language to Python.
